Our Hero Aloe – Discover it’s Many Versatile Uses

Ah, Aloe Vera. Hopefully you saw our previous post on ‘Why we Love Aloe’, but if not, here is a quick summary of this wonderfully natural ingredient…

Aloe Vera is a green cactus plant that the Egyptians once referred to as the ‘Plant of Immortality’.

It is the wonder ingredient that we seem to find everywhere as it has so many uses – gels, mists, masks, etc. And for good reason, Aloe Vera is the super plant that has so many benefits for your skin.

Let’s dive into what Aloe Vera’s many uses and what it can really do for you:

Perfect for Post Hair Removal

Shaving, waxing, lazer – hair removal isn’t the gentlest thing we put our skin through. Applying Aloe Vera after any form of hair removal will sooth the skin, and its healing properties can help treat any small cuts.

Soothes the Scalp

If you have an itchy scalp or lots of dandruff and flaking, Aloe Vera is your hero. Fatty acids in the plant have anti-inflammatory elements, allowing it to manage too-dry hair. The gel can act as a protective layer over your scalp to prevent flaking and replenish moisture.

Treats Skin Concerns

Aloe is soothing and can reduce skin inflammations, blistering and itchiness, while helping the skin to heal better. This is because of the two hormones it contains: auxin and gibberellins. These two hormones provide anti-inflammatory properties that reduce skin inflammation.

Aloe Vera is light and refreshing thanks to its gel quality and water-based nature and effectively moisturises the skin without giving it a greasy feel, so it`s perfect for anyone with an oily skin complexion, or for those who prefer a light moisturiser.

Ah anti-ageing, that faux pax word – but we age, it happens. Aloe leaves contain a plethora of antioxidants including, beta carotene, vitamin C and E that can help improve the skin’s natural firmness whilst keep the skin hydrated and plumped.
