Claire O’Hara Answers Our Health and Happiness Questions . . .

Firstly, you look fabulous – how do you feel in yourself now?

I feel absolutely amazing, I’ve never been happier. My confidence has dramatically increased, along with my confidence which I haven’t had in years. I absolutely love the new me!

When and why did you decide to change your lifestyle?

In 2015 my little boy William was approaching his 1st Birthday, full of energy and running around faster than I could keep up. It didn’t take me long to realise my little boy needed a happy and healthy mummy, so he was my inspiration!

What lifestyle changes have you made over the past few years?

I have changed everything, particularly my food habits. I know understand how to properly fuel my body with good food, and I know how to treat myself without over indulging. I still think it is important to enjoy your food, otherwise you can lose interest so quickly. And obviously, I have become more active, I can do things now I never thought my body would be capable of.

What is your favourite exercise?

I just absolutely love walking; my family and I often go for long walks on the beach. It’s just great getting outside, breathing in the fresh air and being with my family.

What is your favourite healthy meal?
I absolutely love Chicken Parmigiana – the slimming world version of course. But it just goes to show, there are always ways to recreate healthier version your favourite meals!

How does exercise and being fit make you feel?

I never thought I would say this, but I absolutely love exercising now. It’s that buzz I get once I have finished – there is nothing like it. I am now such a happier person and I do believe a lot of this is from working out.

What motivates you to keep going?
It’s my little boy, I see him every single day and I know he needs a happy and healthy Mummy.

What other hobbies and interests do you have which keeps you happy?

I love going to exercise classes with my friends, we motivate each other, and always have a laugh. I also love helping other people through my Instagram account who are embarking on their Slimming World/get fitter/healthier journey – it is such an honour that they see me as motivation.

What advice would you give someone trying to kick start a happier, healthier lifestyle?

Don’t ever give up! One bad day, week or month doesn’t matter, start fresh and keep going! What matters is all those years to come where you will be happy and healthy.

Finally – how are you feeling about the marathon?

Ahrrrr nervous. I am excited and can’t wait to get going to be honest. I can’t wait for the buzz, the crowds, and the main reason I’m making money for an amazing cause – Centrepoint UK.

Centrepoint UK provides housing and support for young people in London, Manchester, Yorkshire and the North East and through partnerships all over the UK. They aim to give homeless young people a future and we want to end youth homelessness.
